Embellished by soaring pine trees and bulbous limestone cliffs that teeter like top-heavy haystacks above placid tobacco plantations, Parque Nacional Viñales is one of Cuba’s most magnificent natural settings. Wedged spectacularly into the Sierra de los Órganos mountain range, this 11km-by-5km valley was recognized as a national monument in 1979, with Unesco World Heritage status following in 1999 for its dramatic steep-sided limestone outcrops (known as mogotes), coupled with the vernacular architecture of its traditional farms and villages.

Viñales is one of the most beautiful and impressive places in Cuba that continues to preserve the authenticity of the place and the locals way of life. In one day we can delve into the beauty of the Viñales valleys, the mogotes (mountains), its tobacco and coffee plantations, enjoying activities such as hiking, horseback riding, canopy or visiting the second largest cave in the Americas. All this with the explanations of our local guide and other members of the community where we will not only learn how cigars are produced, but also their tasting.

Hike through the valleys of Viñales (Palmarito or Silencio), crossing the tobacco plantation, coffee, malanga, cassava, etc. Knowing from the hand of our local guide how tobacco farmers live, cultivate and produce one of the most important products of the Cuban economy.

Horseback riding through the valleys of Viñales in contact with the Nature and the locals, is one of the most attractive experiences and authentic of the entire region of Pinar del Rio. The beauty of the Tobacco plantations, together with the Mogotes (unique and unmistakable mountains), are one of the most interesting attractions of the island.

The sunrise from Los Aquáticos enjoying a local breakfast is so spectacular that it will be part of your most valuable memories. We will cross rice, coffee and tobacco plantations to ascend the slope of one of the mountains (mogotes) of the Cordillera de los Órganos, Viñales National Park. We will cross the forest and observe the flora and fauna until we reach the Aquatic Community that was established in 1943, taking advantage of the medicinal and therapeutic properties of mountain water.

The 2/3 day trip to Viñales will take us to the Pinar del Rio to learn from the hand of our local guide how to live in one of the most beautiful places on the island. We will enjoy several days conversing with the locals, sleeping in their homes and tasting their Creole food.
